Lemon Lime & Bitters

Lemon Lime & Bitters

The drink is believed to have originated in Australia in the late 19th or early 20th century. It rose to popularity in Aussie pubs and golf clubs, where it was often served as a sophisticated alternative to alcohol - especially appealing on hot days or for designated drivers.

Bitters, originally marketed as a medicinal tonic, added a grown-up edge to an otherwise sweet drink. The addition of lime cordial rounded out the flavor, creating a balance of citrus, sweetness, and spice that’s become iconic.

Lemon, Lime and Bitters is now a staple on drink menus across Australia and is often one of the first mixed drinks Aussie kids are allowed to enjoy. It’s served at bars, barbecues, sports clubs, and family gatherings - refreshing, familiar, and uniquely Australian.
